Enjoying life before the accident. Josh was about 14-15 years old. He and his friends made their own bike jumps.

About Me

My photo
We have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Eric and I were married in 1982 and are still together today. We met in church and raised our kids in that same church, We are still very involved at this same church. God has been there for us through many ups and downs in our family life. We have struggled with children with ADD, hyperactivity, strong wills, addictions, and one that became paralyzed at the age of 15 due to a car-pedestrian accident...he was the pedestrian. Eric and I have had to work through relationship issues (as do most couples), job loss, and financial problems. Even though we are believers, that doesn't mean we will never have problems. We just know that God is there for us through these struggles. There has been a lot of growth through these times.

Stem Cell Procedures

Quite a few people that go to Josh's physical therapy are also involved with stem cell procedures. All of the procedures take the stem cells from the patient's own body. The bad part is that these procedures are not done in the United States. I can't wait for them to be done here. Then hopefully they won't cost so much.

Each person has seen significant results from these procedures. If you go to Portugal you can have stem cells taken from inside your nose (close to the brain) and then surgically placed on the spine at the injury site. If you go to Russia, you can have stem cells taken from your bone marrow and then injected into the spine at the site of injury. You must go back for more injections every 3 months or so. That's not very convenient.

This past Saturday a family went to Russia for another injection. They took copies of Josh's MRIs of his spine on CDs. The doctor will let us know if Josh can benefit from their procedure. I'm sure he will be a perfect candidate. The money situation scares me big-time. It costs A LOT of $$$$.

I just did a research paper on stem cells and I can't believe how helpful they are!! If we could only legalize at least some procedure... people could benefit from it!! I hope something happens for you and josh's sake!
