Enjoying life before the accident. Josh was about 14-15 years old. He and his friends made their own bike jumps.

About Me

My photo
We have 5 children and 5 grandchildren with one on the way. Eric and I were married in 1984 and are still together today. We met in church and raised our kids in that same church, We are still very involved at this same church. God has been there for us through many ups and downs in our family life. We have struggled with children with ADD, hyperactivity, strong wills, addictions, and one that became paralyzed at the age of 15 due to a car-pedestrian accident...he was the pedestrian. Eric and I have had to work through relationship issues (as do most couples), job loss, and financial problems. Even though we are believers, that doesn't mean we will never have problems. We just know that God is there for us through these struggles. There has been a lot of growth through these times.

BIO-FEEDBACK (8-24-05)

Josh had his bio-feedback session today. They hooked electrodes to different parts of his hips and legs and asked him to move those muscles under the electrodes. The computer would show whether or not he was moving those muscles and how much. We are excited about the results. He was able to show movement in his hips and a little in his upper legs. Nothing moved as they worked further down towards his feet. That is normal since muscle movement nearest the spinal cord would come back first.

We go back next Friday so they can see if there is better movement when he stands using his leg braces and walker. Josh is going to start doing some suggested exercises to build up more strength and muscle movement in the hip area. He has to start working on the areas that show some movement.

Today was very exciting and we are hoping and praying that things will only progress forward.

Exciting stuff. We're so glad you're able to do the biofeedback Josh. Hope to see more muscles responding every week. Sam starts rehab in Detroit on Friday. Who knows, someday you and Sam may play Basketball, not wheelchair basketball.
